New year, new cookbooks
2011 is sure to be a healthy and colourful one!
Not that I make New Year’s resolutions, but with these two arrivals, 2011 has to be off to a healthy start. Hey, just look at our colourful New Year breakfast!
Typical of all Colleen’s books, Color Me Vegan is full of colour photos and everything looks so appealing! It’s organised by food colour and explains the various nutrients contained across the spectrum. I love Colleen’s writing style and I’m sure just like my copy of The Vegan Table, this cookbook will get a lot of use.
I was really looking forward to receiving Appetite for Reduction and pre-ordered a while back. My copy finally turned up on New Year’s Eve – coincidence? Universe trying to tell me something?! Isa’s recipes are always a winner and I’m so glad this book has a low-fat, whole food focus (despite our Christmas roast, we’re not seitan fiends!). There’s 125 recipes and while there aren’t as many photos throughout, I have no doubt of the deliciousness that lies within!
I haven’t made anything from them yet, but I’ve been flicking through and bookmarking recipes. There’s quite a list and I’ll be sure to post any thoughts about them here along with photos.
