Vegan MoFo’ing through October
Breaking routine, making new recipes and writing more: an all-round delicious month of vegan food blogging.
I’ve decided to join in Vegan MoFo 2012 – how exicting! It’s my first time and is sure to be a challenging cooking and blogging adventure. I really hope I can keep up!
The idea is that during the month of October, participants write as much as they can about vegan food. Ideally a new post would go up every weekday, or even daily. Some bloggers choose themes to stick to over the month and others don’t. It’s really open as long as you relate it to vegan food.
So after drooling on my screen through previous Vegan MoFos, and being impressed and inspired by hundreds of vegan food bloggers, I’m having a MoFo go.
My theme: Ignore the old favourites
I do have a very loose theme to keep me focussed and it involves ignoring my much loved, reliable, favourite recipes.
Despite being a hoarder of cookbooks, I tend to make the same dishes over and over again and gravitate to very “samey” flavours. Predictable and tasty… but limiting.
So during Vegan Mofo, I’m going to pull out my cookbooks and open up to a new page. I’m going to ignore the flags, sticky notes, food spatters and pencil and try some new recipes.
I guess you could say it’s kind of a cookbook bookshelf challenge, but I’ll also throw in some vegan food product and/or restaurant reviews too.
My goal is to break out of my weekly food routine, and at the same time discover new favourites and flavour combos in previously overlooked recipes.
While it’s not a groundbreaking theme, it’s going to be pretty tough for this creature of habit. Also, blogging so regularly for a month straight will be a massive challenge. I’m sure to learn from that too.
So let the Vegan MoFo’ing begin… Monday!
